Clock Hand Earrings!

This past week I was thrilled to find clock hands at Lancaster Creative Reuse.  Not just a few, but a lot. I spent almost my entire lunch break picking through and purchasing a lot of them.

I couldn't wait to make some earrings out of them!  These are some that I made.

They are currently available at my booth at BUiLDiNG CHARACTER and will be available in my online shop soon as well!  (Just $10 a pair!)

Recycled Cuffs - Sneak Peeks

I've been sewing my fingers off!  These new cuff bracelets are made from reused clothing - jeans, khakis, t-shirts, sweaters - and embroidery and hand-sewing.

I have been really enjoying the very low-tech-ness of the process, sewing them entirely by hand.  The repetitiveness of creating them is very relaxing.  I think it's also notable that the only new parts of these pieces is the embroidery floss (and the designs!!)

These are a few of the many new cuffs to come for my fall line!  There are many more cut out and ready to be sewn.

Truth be told, these aren't completely done.  They need to have buttons sewn on yet, but I wanted to share what I have so far!

Don't forget, my new fall line will be premiering on Thursday, September 2, 2010 online starting at 3 pm, and First Friday, September 3, 2010 at BUiLDiNG CHARACTER 342 N. Queen St, Warehouse C, Lancaster, PA 6 pm - 9 pm.  At both events, all my new pieces will be 15% off.

New Photography Jewelry

New Handmade Jewelry

It has been a while, but I have a lot of new things to add to my Etsy Shop.  (Mainly because of the windy day that caused me to leave my craft show this weekend....)

These "Bubble Rings" are one of my new items.  They are made with small (1/2" ish to 3/4" ish) glass pebbles with an image under on an adjustable ring.

Also, made with the same glass pebbles, I have listed these cute and dainty pendants.

The above pendant, has already sold!

These word pendants can be customized to any word - up to 5 letters long.
The word is typed on my vintage manual typewriter.
Stay tuned...there will be more items added throughout the week!

2.23.2010

I was feeling pretty sick yesterday, and did a lot of laying around whining.   I feel like am behind this week already.

I'm trying to use this pendant as an inspiration to speed up!

I have a lot of new projects in the works (mostly ideas still at this point.)  And I have a few coaster sets just waiting to be finished, that I plan to finish this week.

So, I'm off to getting working on these things so I can share them with you!!

January 2010 Newsletter

Happy New Year!!!

Recycling Tip:

Make your New Year's Eve party more recycle-friendly. Check out this article from 1800recycling.com with lots of tips.

New items:

I have added another original photography scrabble tile pendant to my Etsy Shop. (and even more are on the way!) This one, "Wood Street", was taken in Centralia, Pennsylvania, a ghost town with an underground mine fire that has been burning for years. (Actually, you can get a copy of the Outta the Way zine all about Centralia.) This is the street sign for Wood Street and is probably the most unique and cool street signs I have ever seen.

There are also more cord choices listed in the Mix and Match Pendant Section of my Etsy Shop.
Brown Cotton Cord, Natural Cotton Cord, Off-White Cotton Cord, Black Cotton Cord, Black Satin Cord and Ball Chain. (Ribbon Cords will be added soon, as well as pink cotton cord)

And don't forget about the Glass Tile Tutorial I have listed. You can make your own personalized Valentine's Day present. (And the recipient would LOVE it!)

Discount:

This discount is available only to my email newsletter subscribers and facebook fans. Usually the discount is available in my Etsy Shop, but occasionally I will make it also available at my brick and mortar shop at BUiLDiNG CHARACTER. This month is for my Etsy Shop only.

To get the discount, join my email newsletter or become on fan on facebook. (see to the right)

Giveaway:

To make things go a little smoother for me, here are the giveaway rules for this month forward:

  1. In order to enter, you just must be an email newsletter subscriber or facebook fan. If you are both, you are entered twice automatically. You do not need to do anything else to enter.
  2. To win, you must either have a mailing address in the United States or be willing to pay the shipping to receive the giveaway item if you are not in the U.S.A. If the winner does not have a U.S.A. mailing address and is not willing to pay shipping, a new winner will be picked.
  3. I will pick the winner sometime at the beginning of the month and email the winner (or send an email through facebook.) The winner will be chosen with the random number generator at Random.org. (I count the numbers this way: email subscribers are the first numbers and facebook fans are after. It is arranged by order that you signed up.)
  4. The winner has 3 days to claim their prize by responding to the message I send. The winner should respond with their mailing address. (If I am giving away a customizable or choice of items, they should also respond with their choice, again, within 3 days of my email.)
  5. If I do not receive a response within 3 days, I will pick a new winner who will have 3 days to respond. If that person doesn't respond, there will be no winner for the month.
  6. I will send out the prize within 2 days of their response. (Custom items may take a couple extra days.)

Whew!!!!

This month's giveaway is:
Gettysburg Cross, An Original Photography Scrabble Pendant (which will come with a ball chain)

This is a brand new item that isn't even available to the public as of right now! It is a photo of a monument at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

(Remember, to join the giveaway, make sure you sign up for my email newsletter or fan B.B. Bellezza on facebook.)

Collaboration Art Pendants!

I am a huge fan of Stephanie Corfee. I have her art hanging on my wall and she's seriously the sweetest person you ever met. So I was thrilled when we talked about doing a collaboration of miniature versions of her artwork into pretty pendants.

I am so happy to announce that I have (finally) listed Art Pendants in my shop. I am so pleased with them, it's difficult to not buy them all for myself!

They make a perfect gift, and would be so cool paired with a print from Stephanie's shop. I know I would adore anyone who would get me such a gift!

You can find them in my shop, Stephanie's shop, or in person at my booth at BUiLDiNG CHARACTER (342 N. Queen St., Rear Warehouses, Lancaster, PA)

Here are just a few examples:

New Coasters!

New coaster set! This is another set covered in actual canceled stamps. They are decoupaged on upcycled ceramic tiles and then covered with many layers of a waterproof sealer. On the bottom of each coaster is covered with felt to protect your furniture.

My stamp coasters are my most popular coasters, so check 'em out in my Etsy Shop quickly.

Since I use all upcycled materials, so I can't always make more of certain things. I am running very low on stamps, so I am not sure when (or if) I will be able to make more of these particular coasters.

On a related note, if you are out and about at an auction, flea market, etc. and find a big lot of canceled stamps, let me know!

Mix and Match Scrabble Tile Pendants

Last night I started to list the many new Scrabble Tile Pendants that I have recently made in my Etsy Shop. Usually I have listed my Scrabble Tile Pendants with a cord or chain so they were all ready to go. I got to thinking, though, it may be nice for my customers if I listed them without a necklace and then customers could buy more than one pendant, but only have to purchase one chain. You can use the same chain for all your pendants! The pendants are only $7 each (they are $10 with the chain.)

I will also have customized pendants available at craft shows in person. The buyer would get to choose the pendant, the chain or cord and the length, and then a cute container to keep the pendant in.

I have A LOT more pendants to list. Some will be listed tonight and the bulk of them will probably be listed this weekend, either Saturday morning or sometime Sunday evening.

Also, I plan to offer more choices in necklaces as well. Right now there is a ball chain listed, but more options will be listed soon!

I would love your feedback on whether you think that I should just list the pendants with a cord/chain or you like this new feedback. (You can tell me on twitter - I'm @BBBellezza - or leave a comment here)

Thanks for your help!!

New Pieces. Events

Fall is coming and I have been creating some more fall pieces. (And even a few Christmas pieces, too.)

Here is a group shot of the altered dominoes I have just created. Most of these are actually pins now and will show up in my shop starting next week. Some of these will also be available as pendants down the road, too, or by request.

In progress....

These pieces will be making their debut at the Manheim Township Community Day at Overlook Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania 10 am - 4pm.

Sunday I'll be at Sunday Market at Building Character 342 N. Queen Street Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 11-3. There's a car show going on in Lancaster, so come on out and check it out!

Honestly, I am a little worried about the rain.... but, I will be setting up irregardless and hoping for the best. Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow.

I haven't been blogging a lot lately because I have been really busy. But I have always found the change to fall to be a good time to get into good habits and more routine. I guess it's the whole back-to-school thing. So I hope to get on a schedule and blog more routinely.
Have a great weekend!
