New Pieces. Events

Fall is coming and I have been creating some more fall pieces. (And even a few Christmas pieces, too.)

Here is a group shot of the altered dominoes I have just created. Most of these are actually pins now and will show up in my shop starting next week. Some of these will also be available as pendants down the road, too, or by request.

In progress....

These pieces will be making their debut at the Manheim Township Community Day at Overlook Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania 10 am - 4pm.

Sunday I'll be at Sunday Market at Building Character 342 N. Queen Street Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 11-3. There's a car show going on in Lancaster, so come on out and check it out!

Honestly, I am a little worried about the rain.... but, I will be setting up irregardless and hoping for the best. Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow.

I haven't been blogging a lot lately because I have been really busy. But I have always found the change to fall to be a good time to get into good habits and more routine. I guess it's the whole back-to-school thing. So I hope to get on a schedule and blog more routinely.
Have a great weekend!

250th post! New Items and Custom Orders

How about some cake in celebration of my 250th post! It seems kind of impossible that I have written that many posts, yet, it is true. Yay!

Today I have spent the day photographing, editing, listing, going to appointments that I was dreading (but were fine), relisting and preparing listings. You can see the efforts of my work in my Etsy Shop and eBay store. There are tons of Game Tile Pendants in both! (While I feel relieved to have all these posted, I still have other categories of jewelry to list!)

There are also more used books listed in my shop and some of my pendants are on auction, which is always fun. Also this cool necklace is up for grabs on eBay as well.

This necklace is made from a rescued broken belt and vintage brass chain. It is adjustable so you could wear it as a choker or as a princess length necklace.

Custom Order Game Tile Pendants
I have had a couple requests for custom game tile pendants lately, which is wonderful.

If you would like to order a custom domino tile or scrabble tile pendant, just let me know. If you would like one in time for Christmas, now is probably the time to ask me as things get pretty wild around the holidays. Plus, I source the paper for my pendants from all different sources, and nowhere that I can just call up and order. I dig through vintage books and any other paper that I can find. For example if you would like a particular sport or activity themed pendant, I can dig through my paper stash to see what I have or keep my eyes open for such an image. It could take me a little while to come up with the actual pendant.

If you have an image that you would like afixed to a scrabble or domino pendant, contact me and I will tell you where to mail it. I can't accept images digitally at the moment because I don't have a decent printer nor do I know how to size images to get them to fit. If you can do that and give me the physical image, awesome. If not, I can't do it right now, but I will be looking into it in the future.

Any questions, just email me at BBBellezza@hotmail.com

Show Recap

Friday we did Green Dragon Market in Ephrata, PA. By "we" I mean that I helped my boyfriend set up, drove him nuts until asking him if he had everything he needed and did he want to ask me anything to which he responded, "what would make me feel better is if you would go to work." So, I went to work. Jim held down the fort.

I have thought about this a lot, I wasn't going to write about this show, but I decided that this blog is my life - good and bad - and others might glean some information from it.

I had mistakenly thought that no matter what the situation I at least make a certain amount of money at each show. This has been the case basically each show since I began doing them again this spring. However, this show was different.

I had been to Green Dragon only one other time, and I didn't particularly remember it. I thought it was basically a farmer's market, with some flea market stuff and a some handmade items, too. Okay, probably not necessarily my target group, but I thought maybe my target group would show up. I am a member of my target group and I go to flea markets.....

So, it was hot and miserable and I was in my little office in the air conditioning while my boyfriend had to deal with the mass-produced jewelry-seller across the way. Yes, directly across from my stand. $2 jewelry.

So, to top off the day, just when I was on my way up to take over after work, the skies opened up and the rains pounded down. We packed up and left.

Instead of looking at the day as a total loss, I have decided to learn a couple lessons:

1. I can give up control and let my boyfriend run the stand on his own. I don't have to be a control freak.
2. The Green Dragon will not work for my products. Most likely I should stay away from flea markets altogether.
3. My tent is actually waterproof. (this is the first test of it)
4. I can pack up my stand super fast in a thunderstorm.

This event was disappointing, but I am moving on. I knew we were just testing it and it may not work, but I still thought we would make some money.

I want to add, although I don't think I will be a vendor at this market, nor do I recommend it for handmade jewelry designers in particular, it is a huge market and you should check it out if you are local.

In other news, I have been making more pendants! Some are going out on assignment (lol! that's consignment!) but more will be making their first appearances at my show on Friday (more about that later in the week) and in my shop. I just have to do some finishing touches and then they will be photographed and listed in my shops.

This pendant was made with a page out of a Japanese novel and a picture featuring a pretty tree.

My etsy shop has some deals right now in the "Sale" section.

Finally, I just wanted to remind you all that you can join my email newsletter by sending an email to BBBellezza@hotmail.com with "Subscribe" in the subject line. Right now those who are members are enjoying a special deal. They can use this deal in conjunction with any sale price or any other offer that I may list.
