Ever wonder if using recycled paper is really helping? It seems so simple. It only costs slightly more than paper that is not recycled. Well, according to Weyerhaeuser, using recycled paper helps a lot!
Recycling 1 ton of paper saves:
- 17 trees
- 6,953 gallons of water
- 463 gallons of fuel
Recycling prevents:
- 587 pounds of pollution
- 3.06 cubic yards of landfill
Also, if everyone would start to purchase recycled paper, it would create a demand for recycled paper. Thus, more paper companies will be creating more recycled paper and less non recycled paper.
