Virtual Open House Details

I am so happy to announce my first ever Virtual Open House! To be held on July 19, 2009 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

I am getting ready to have an in-person Open House, and I wanted to be able to have a similar event with all my friends from blogland who couldn’t make it to Lancaster for my in-person event.

What?

You may be curious as to what this really means, anyway. Well, when I have an in-person Open House, I invite everyone I know to stop in at my house (or this year at Building Character) to browse through my handcrafted jewelry to purchase. I have food and drinks and we all just have a fun ‘ol time. So, this will be the same thing! But, since I can’t really offer you any food or drink through the computer, I am going to offer a discount instead. You just have to “pre-register” for my open house. Just send me an email letting me know that you would like to attend the Virtual Open House and I will email you the code back. (I will only you your email address in conjuction with the Virtual Open House: to receive the discount code, and for 1 reminder email.) The discount code will be valid only during the hours of the Virtual Open House (July 19, 2009 2pm - 4pm.)

During the Virtual Open House, I will be live at my computer. I hope to be available for live chatting via AIM. (User ID BBBellezza) Don’t worry if you don’t have AIM, we can comment on the blog and have discussions there. Or if you have questions for me, you can email me during the Virtual Open House.

Throughout the Virtual Open House, I will present several new items for sale only here on my blog. Those attending the Virtual Open House will be the only people to know about these new items at the time! I will be posting new blog entries as we go along. So, to keep up-to-speed, just make sure to refresh your screen every so often.

Even if you forget to pre-register, you can certainly join us for the Virtual Open House; however, only those who pre-register will receive the discount code, so I am sure that you would like to do that!

Finally, the first 10 people to “pre-register” for the Virtual Open House by sending an email to me at BBBellezza@comcast.net will receive their very own starter necklace for my new “Scrabble Tile Subscription”, which will be launched at the Virtual Open House. You will get your choice of available cords and chains for use with my pendant line (right now cotton cords, ball chain and silver plated chains are available. I hope to have more options soon.) Throughout the Open House I will be offering “door prizes” which will include pendants for your necklace! Other pendants will be available for purchase at a discount at the Open House and will be available in my Etsy Shop starting during the Virtual Open House. 5 Random Things I am Loving Right Now

This week is going to be pretty hairy for me, preparing for my Open House. I am very excited and my mom is coming to help, so that's awesome as well. But, I am going to be very busy getting ready.

Last night, after running errands and making some other jewelry, I decided that I should make 100 more Scrabble Tile Pendants. Now, I didn't end up making that many (more around 50 or so), but it was more exhausting than I anticipated and today I am wiped.

So, I apologize for the incoherent blog post! It might be fun though....

I am just going to tell you about a few things that I am loving right now!

#1 On Sunday, my boyfriend Jim and I went to the American Music Fest along the river in Harrisburg, PA. If you haven't been there, there are several stages with different music groups performing all day at the different stages. We saw a nice variety.

The main reason we really wanted to check it out, though, was because my boyfriend's friend Earl was performing for Hip Hop Hour. In the past Hip Hop wasn't really represented well at Music Fest, but this year was a little different. I hadn't seen E-Will and D-Bo (his brother) perform before (although my boyfriend has) and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. I actually do like rap music, but I hate gangster rap and anything super negative or derogatory to women. E-Will's message was positive and fun. I fully expect him to make it big some day.

Check him out here. He has a CD, too, which has been on constant play in our house and car since Sunday night. It's really good and his brother is a really great singer, too.

#2 The Hodge Podgery Check out the website and then check out the store in Harrisburg, PA if you can. B.B. Bellezza will be represented (if I ever get a second to send some things....sorry Dawn!) Dawn (co-owner with her daughter) has an energy that is, well, electric. You feel more excited just talking to her. What they have going on is very exciting for Harrisburg! Yay!

#3 Volume 3 of Outta the Way (a zine written by my boyfriend Jim and myself) is now available. Did you know that The Blob was filmed in Pennsylvania? It was and we have a tour of some of the great spots where scenes were filmed. Don't forget BlobFest in Phoenixville, PA!! (You can pick up a copy at my booth at Building Character, or in my Etsy Shop.)

#4 Rachel's Cafe and Creperie We went here on First Friday before things got busy (while I still had a chance to eat before my stand went crazy!). Wow! I love this place. And my step-daughter says she's addicted, too. We both had the Philly cheese steak crepe. I have also had the cordon blue crepe, which is also amazing. Highly recommend Rachel's!

#5 We also got to walk around a little before the festivities and I finally got to see Annex 24 Gallery. Lots of cool art there! Definitely check this place out, too!

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to do a reminder with some details about upcoming B.B. Bellezza Open House at Building Character!

What: Open House

I will have a discussion about my work, my inspiration and how I got started and I will be showing my newest pieces.

There will be door prizes, discounts and snacks!

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Lancaster Buy Fresh Buy Local.

There will be surprise discounts to the first 50 people!

When: Saturday, July 11, 2009 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Where: Building Character
342 North Queen Street, Rear
Lancaster, PA

From Queen Street, you walk back an archway, where you will see a sign for Building Character.
There is some parking available behind Building Character. To access the parking lot, turn down Market St. (which is really an alley) from Lemon St. or Walnut St.

Building Character consists of 2 warehouses. The event is taking place in the second warehouse you come to from Queen Street. You will see everything set up when you come in. (But feel free to browse the entire place! There are a lot of great vendors and also very unique architectural salvage pieces that you can't find anywhere else!)

And, as a special added bonus, I think there will be some live music as well! :)

More Improvements

My booth at Building Character is slowly and steadily getting better and better and closer to what I want.

We installed new lighting this past weekend. It is amazing the difference it makes! You can really see my jewelry now!

The only major thing I still need to deal with is (obviously from this photo) the floor. I haven't made a final decision, but ideas are floating around. I think that painting it is in the lead .... but I am also considering carpet.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

I suddenly have Alice in Wonderland fever. I can't wait for it to come out. I heard about Tim Burton doing Alice in Wonderland (starring Johnny Depp to boot!) quite a while ago. Now that photos are coming out and we are getting little peeks at the movie, I just can't wait!
